A major road construction and repair of damaged bridges is ongoing in Doe Zuoplay Town in the Doe Administrative District of Nimba County.
Accordingly, the 21st Century Engineering and Construction Company is busy clearing the road, building culvert and repairing damaged bridges in Doe Zuoplay Town.
The road which leads from Tappita to Doe Zuoplay has been closed for the past ten years due to the inability of the Government of Liberia to carry on regular maintenance endeavor. Doe-Zuoplay Town youth coordinator, Jackson N.Langar, said the clearing of the road is a blessing to the people of the district as it will enable them to take their goods to the market in Tappita and other parts of the county for sale.
He said the town will now receive medical drugs, text books and other essential commodities in huge quantity for the use of the people in the district. The youth coordinator further appealed to the Government of Liberia to connect the entire roads with the various towns in the district to foster the free movement of citizens and residents. He said for the past years, commercial vehicles were unable to enter the town but with the rehabilitation of the road vehicles now ply the road with ease.
Doe- Zuoplay is located in the Doe Administrative District with the human population of more than 10, 000 with Sam Napa as the District Commissioner.
During a guided tour from Gogein Town to Doe- Zuoplay, workers of 21st Century Engineering and Construction Company were seen busy repairing several damaged bridges on the main highway to the town. In Nimba several feeder roads are presently undergoing rehabilitation including the Zoe- Geh and the Kparblee District roads in the county.
