A subscriber of the Lonestar Cell/MTN Company, Mr. Jurah A.M. Sanoe, has complained the GSM service provider to the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) which is the regulating body of all telecommunication networks in Liberia. According to Mr. Jurah Sanoe, on Monday of March 21, 2016 he loaded his phone with five USD credit and made two calls within the Lonestar network, but later discovered that his balance credits were wiped out by the company.
“When I realized that my credit was being taken by the Lonestar/MTN without providing me service, I visited the head offices of the Company in Congo Town and presented my complain; they told me to go home as the situation would be rectified and after a day my phone was reloaded with three USD credits,” he explained.
He said that the incident of Lonestar cell wiping out his credits without providing him service was not the first time it happened to him.
Mr. Sanoe called on the LTA to investigate the company to identify whether this ‘theft of credit’ is as the result of system failure or a deliberate action of the Lonestar Cell Company to steal from the Liberian people.
He concluded that there are thousands of subscribers who continue to suffer from what he Jurah Sanoe refers to as “theft of credits” by the company. Meanwhile, a senior staff of the company was contacted to speak to the allegation, but up till press time the paper did not get any redress from Lonestar Cell/MTN.
