TODAY, THOUSANDS OF Liberians will line-up the principal streets of Monrovia in jubilant mood to receive the senior national team of Liberia, the Lone Star of Liberia as the team arrives after a historic 3-1 thrashing of Guinea Bissau last Tuesday.
ACCORDING TO THE protocol for Lone Star arrival today, the team will touch down at the Robert International Airport via Royal Air Maroc around the morning hours today and will proceed to the team’s camp, Executive Lodge on the RIA highway for a brief stop.
LATER IN THE afternoon, the team, headed by Liberia Football Association (LFA) President, Musa Bility, Youth and Sports Minister, Lenn Eugene Nagbe and other prominent citizens, will proceed to Monrovia and parade the principle streets of Monrovia and climax the activity with a grand rally at the legendary Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).
WE ARE VERY proud to welcome our darling national team for its splendid performance in Guinea Bissau where the Lone Star of Liberia recorded a historic 3-1 away victory over the home side.
THE VICTORY BY the Lone Star is indeed historic as this is the first time for the Lone Star to win a very important march in 14 years outside the country. We are satisfied with the recent games played thus far especially the one against Tunisia and Guinea Bissau.
NOW THAT WE are back on track, let these victories serve as motivating factors for our national team. Let our players do away with the act of complacency and play the game to bring proud to their nation. In this way, Liberia will be once again a serious force to reckon with in the football world.
IN VIEW OF this, we are urging Liberians to come together and support the team in all aspects; be it morally or financially to boost the morale of the team. We also want to use this time to commend the Government of Liberia (GOL) for its continuous support to the national team and call on the government to redouble its support to the national team. Additionally, we hail the Liberia Football Association (LFA) for its role in these recent performances of the team.
AGAIN, AS WE welcome the Lone Star, as we appeal to our players not to be complacent in the remaining games but to know that they are representing a country and, therefore, must play with their whole heart for continuous victories so that the Lone Star will continue to shine forever.
BRAVO TO THE Lone Star of Liberia as you arrive today, we are proud of you guys, please continue to bring proud to our dear country.
