The Liberia Crusaders for Peace has distributed hundreds of book bags with assorted school materials to young children drawn from various schools across Montserrado County.
The bags, which come with copy books, crayons, pencils, geometry sets, calculators and other assorted school items, were provided by the Faith Feeders Ministries based in New Jersey USA.
The items were originally given to the Mayor of Bentol Christine Tolbert Norman who then gave them to the Liberia Crusaders for Peace for onward distribution to the children of Liberia.
The distribution of the materials started in July this year when the Crusaders for Peace assembled several school kids at its headquarters in Monrovia and share the bags among them.
The last batch of materials was distributed Thursday among students of the Blessed Christian Foundation School in Paynesville.
Speaking at the program, the Executive Director of the Liberia Crusaders for Peace JuliEndee called on the kids to make the most of the materials and better prepare themselves for the future.
She thanked Bentol City Mayor Christine Tolbert Norman and the US based Faith Feeders Ministries for helping to put smiles on the faces of Liberian Children as they return to school after the Ebola outbreak.
In a brief remark, the proprietor of the Blessed Christian Foundation School Rev. Mother Veronica Smith lauded Amb. Endee for the gesture and called on other humanitarian organizations to emulate the good example of the LCP.
Her comments were echoed by student Kingston Kolleh who assured the Crusaders for Peace that the students will make maximum use of the materials given them.
