Lone Star Foreign Based Players Arrive

All 16 foreign based players invited by Liberia Lone Star’s head coach, James SalinsaDebbah have arrived in Monrovia for the crucial World Cup preliminary match against Guinea Bissau this Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).

The red, white and blue outfit is expected to play the two competitive matches in five days. The return leg of the Guinea Bissau clash is expected on October 13 in Guinea Bissau.

On Sunday in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County where Lone Star had gone to play a test match with Bassa team that is preparing for the National County Meet, Teah Dennis and Marcus Macaulay of Al-Ahli in Jordan and Patrick Gehardt of Malaysia Super League side Sarawak FA arrived, but did not participate in the friendly encounter.

Earlier on Saturday, South Africa based, DirkirGlay arrived, while the goal machine, Francis ‘Grandpa’ Forkey Doe, defender AdolphusMarshell and forward SporoSomah, who plies his trade with Sewe Sports in Ivory Coast who are named among the foreign based are still in Monrovia on vacation.

Other foreign based players who joined their contemporaries and have begun training include Gizzie   ‘Tucan’ Dorbor of HapoelAfula in Israel, Sam Johnson, who just scored for his team Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish top flight before returning home for the match, Anthony Laffor of MamelodiSundownsin South Africa and ZahRahanKrangar who plays for Felda United FC in the Malaysia Super League.

The rest include tormentor William Jebor of SD Ponferradina in Spain, Solomon Grimes of Nea Salamis Famagusta in Cyprus, SekuConneh who plays professional football in Holland with OSS, new comer Dioh Williams of Gefle FC in the Swedish topflight and Abel Gebor formerly of FC Fassell now showcases with KS TërbuniPukëin Albania.

The stars will continue training at the game’s venue at the ATS.

Meanwhile, Lone Star edged Grand Bassa team that is preparing for the National County Meet 1-0 at the Doris Williams Sports pitch in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County in continuation of preparation for the upcoming encounter.

Barrack Young Controller (BYC) hit man, Van Dave Harmon, scored the Debbah’s guided side in the second half.
