Liberia’s Lone Star head coach, James SalinsaDebbah was at the Robert International Airport yesterday to welcome the country’s number one goalkeeper, Nathaniel Sherman, who got injured days before Liberia’s crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with the Carthage Eagle of Tunisia on September 5, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).
The player, while communicating on his cell phone, slammed into a transparent glass at the hotel where the national team of Liberia was camping, thereby sustaining serious facial injury.
A source from India hinted this paper that the right eye of the first choice goalkeeper of Sherman is said to be damaged where the goaltender will no longer continue his career.
Our Source narrated that the retina of the Liberian goalkeeper was damaged completely, while he got 30-40% possibility of seeing again with the left eye.
Several Liberians in and out of the country have shown concerns for the goaltender with the latest being his coach, Debbah, who turned out at the airport to welcome the injured goalkeeper.
