Resourceful defender GizzieTucanDorbor recall to the senior national team of Liberia, the Lone Star will serve as an added impetus as his presence will add steel to the team’s back line for their crunch duel with Tunisia on this Saturday September 5, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Dorbor, who is known as a left back in Liberia since his days with Georgian FC, Karn United and LISCR, has since been transformed to a centred back and holding midfielder as he has never featured at the left back position for the past five years.
Now plying his trade with Israeli club HapoelAfula, Dorbor has been an asset for his club in that part of the world as his good tactical awareness; uncompromising marking and intelligence make him a defender to watch.
The harder worker, who was on the winning side when he played for the Lone Star on October 8, 2006 when the Lone Star got a nervy win over the Amavubi of Rwanda at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium with goals from Francis Doe, Oliver Markor and Dioh Williams, is returning to the ATS to help his country against Tunisia and it is likely he will feature at left back. Where ever he operates, he will be useful as he is a player who approaches a match wholeheartedly.
As a left back, he will be lethal during the attack where he will provide his trade mark diagonal balls in the opposition box and as well be accurate under pressure. As a centre back, he will keep rein on the front man by closing him down, dispossessing him and also provide coverage for full backs, while as a holding midfielder, he will serve as a shield providing protection for his side back four.
GizzieDorbor is a difficult opponent as he makes life uneasy for marauding forwards and will certainly bring such quality to the fore against former African champions Tunisia.
