A Ghana-based Liberian Movie Star, Frank Artus, has won the Face of Africa and the Humanitarian award is expected in the country today. During his visit, Frank Artus will present the two awards to the government of Liberia on Thursday, August 27, at the Ministry of Information Regular Press Briefing in Monrovia.
The Ghana-based Liberian movie icon who was amongst several movie stars across the continent, received the Face of Africa Award in New York City on July 11 2015.
As part of his visit to Liberia, Artus will be joining the fight against Gender Based Violence by signing up to the UN Women HE for SHE campaign which seeks to end violence against women in the country.
According to an official of the Liberia Movie Industry, Henry Johnson, there will be series of other activities hosted to welcome Frank Artus back home.
After the presentation of the Awards to the Liberian Government on Thursday, Artus is expected to parade the major streets of Monrovia on Saturday, August 29, to showcase the awards to the Liberian public, as well as pay visit to several movie houses in Liberia.
The Fascinating Africans Committed to Excellence of Africa Awards known as the FACE of Africa award is one of the biggest pan-African achievement awards in the Diaspora. The award seeks to recognize African icons that have shown so much passion in promoting their country through entertainment and it is also designed to showcase the innovators and pioneers in society who pave the way for future leaders.
