The second round of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Knockout known as the FA cup ended yesterday with Jubilee FC joining Watanga FC, LISCR FC, Monrovia Club Breweries FC, FC Fassell and Barrack Young Controller II in the third round of the competition.
The competition which began last Friday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS), saw Dee Maxwell Kemeyah’sWatanga dumping Gbarnga based second division outfit; Mighty Dragon 3-0, while LFA club of the moment, LISCR FC came from behind to edge Aries FC 2-1.
Christopher Jackson scored his fifth goal from four matches as he scored a fantastic equalizer for the Mustapha Raji’s boys to end the first half one all.
Back from recess, Captain Emmanuel Tarpeh scored the crucial goal to see LISCR FC collect the maximum three points and a place in the last six of the competition.
The Gardnersville based club is said to be targeting all trophies after qualifying to the final of the 2015 President Cup and winning Group B of the LFA first division.
The second day of the competition saw CassellKuoh’s FC Fassell edging AdolphusDolo’sNimba United 1-0 to secure the crucial win.
Fantastic lad Kesselly Kamara, alias Liberia’s Kaka came from the bench to do the damage to Nimba United.
The last match of the day saw Monrovia Club Breweries qualifying to the last six with a 4-1 penalty kick out win against youthful Keitrace FC after regular time ended goalless.
Barrack Young Controller II revenged for their senior brothers as they beat NPA Anchors 5-4 in penalties after regular time ended one all, while Jubilee FC qualified to the last six with a 2-0 win over Holder FC.
Meanwhile, the third round of the competition will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Headquarters of the LFA.
