Report emanating from the Monrovia-Gbarnga Highway says several passengers commuting on a National Transit Authority Bus from Monrovia are feared dead following a tragic motor accident.
According to information gathered by this paper, about 50 persons onboard the NTA bus died as a result of the accident which occurred yesterday afternoon. No account of what led to the accident has been released up to press time.
The accident according to our information occurred near Totota, about 10 km near Gbarnga City the capital city of Bong County. The dead include mostly women and children and some men also onboard the NTA bus. The bus was said to be traveling to the commercial district of Ganta, Nimba County.
Most of the victims have been taken to the Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga for medical treatment, the report said.
Meanwhile, hundreds of persons in NImba are said to be mourning the deaths of those who met their untimely demise while traveling on the NTA buss. Report from Ganta says most of those involved in the tragic motor accident are from Ganta and other places in NImba County.
This paper is still investigating circumstances that led to the tragic motor accident that caused the death of nearly fifty passengers on the Monrovia-Gbarnga Road. The Monrovia-Gbarnga-Ganta Highway is believed to be one of the best roads in the country as construction of the road is nearing completion.
