LICPA Inducts Officers Today

The Liberia Institute of Certified Public Accountants, L. I. C. P. A was established by an act of the National Legislature in June 2011 to regulate the accounting profession in Liberia and is empowered to set standards, license accounting and assurance Practitioners, build capacity and do all things appertaining to regulating the accounting and assurance professions aimed at building a strong and vibrant public accounting sector in the Country.

The Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (L.I.C.P.A) is the successor of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Liberia (ICPAL) which was established by an act of the National Legislature in 1933.

In accordance with Section 5 of the Act establishing L.I.C.P.A, (Term of Office), a new corps of officers is elected to steer the affairs of the Institute after every two years.

According to the Executive Director of the L. I. C. P, A’s Secretariat Mrs. Eudora Blay Pritchard, the program will take place today, in the Ball Room of the Monrovia City Hall at six O’clock Post Meridiem and will be graced by Madam Iguana Dobraja, Country Manager, World Bank, Liberia, as Guest Speaker while ClIr. James N. VerdierJr, Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission will serve as the installing Officer.

Those expected to be inaugurated include Hon. Arthur W. B. Fumbah, President elect, Hon. Paul C. Collins, Vice President elect; Taweh J. Veikai, Council Member elect and the Immediate past President Mr. WahNim’ne Elliott Mambo.

This year’s inaugural program is under the theme: “Professionalism, Productivity, Enhancing Inclusive Participation and Visibility; Liberia’s next generation of Accountants” will bring together several dignitaries from government like Dr. J. Mills Jones, Executive Governor, Central Bank of Liberia, CBL, Hon. Amara Konneh, Minister of Finance and Development Planning, MFDP, top Corporate Sponsors and National and International Partner Institutions.
