Pastor Accused Of Raping 13-Yr Old Child
The Assistant Pastor of a local church (name withheld) at the ELWA Junction has been charged with statutory rape.
Pastor Eddie Freeman, 50, who claimed to be a former music teacher at another locale in Sinkor Old Road allegedly, raped a 13-year old girl (named withheld.)
A charge sheet prepared by the Women and Children Protection Section (WACPS) of the Liberia National Police (LNP), where the defendant was investigated, revealed that Freeman was arrested on Saturday, July 9, 2015.
Police said the victim’s mother complained that her daughter had since been sexually abused from December 2014 to date.
The mother of the victim told investigators that she discovered about the rape after seeing L$350.00 in her daughter’s book bag and then confronted her as how she got the money.
The lady said, besides the money found in her bag, her daughter admitted that Pastor Freeman bought her a pair of black shoes, some blouses and a skirt.
The police said during preliminary investigation with the victim, she freely narrated that she and Freeman had been having sexual intercourse since 2014 in one of the market buildings on Old Road.
She disclosed further that most often Pastor Freeman sexed her on the market table. She also explained to the police that on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at about 20:00 hrs, Pastor Freeman called and carried her in the market building, where they had sex.
A medical result compiled by the Hope for Woman International Clinic (HWIC) in Paynesville, revealed that the victim’s hymen was broken and had penetration, healed wound and whitish discharged in her private part.
However, defendant Freeman who spoke to reporters from his prisoner’s bench at the Temple of Justice admitted knowing the victim since 2014 at the time he served as a music teacher at a local church.
He also confirmed that he bought shoes, blouses and a skirt for the girl, but denied giving her money and having sex with her.
Freeman, who appeared perplexed, said on one occasion, he hit the victim on her back in the market while she was wrestling with some boys.
