Liberian international striker Francis Grandpa Forkey Doe scored his 13th goal of the season to help his club NS Matrix collect a point against UiTM in a crucial away battle in Malaysia.
The home side UiTM took the lead from the penalty spot in the 21st minutes through forward Bakary. Seven minutes later, Malaysian forward Sadallah scored a superb volley to increase the score for the home side as the first half ended 2-0.
Back from recess, Grandpa got his side’s first goal in the 83rd minute and scored the crucial equalizer four minutes later to end the match 2-2.
Grandpa Doe remains the 2015 Malaysia Premier League leading goal scorer with thirteen (13) goals to his name, while his club NS Matrix occupies the seventh spot on the table with twenty points from fourteen games.
The Liberian could be a positive addition to Liberia’s Lone Star squad to face Tunisia early September in continuation of the 2017 Nations Cup qualifier.
Meanwhile, another Malaysia-based Liberian international striker, Patrick “Ronaldinho” Wleh scored for his Premier League club PKNS FC in their 4-0 victory over Kulala Lumpur. The towering striker who had to stay on the side-line for two months due to knee injury before serving seven game bans, scored his side second goal to help them get an easy 4-0 victory over Kulala Lumpur.
The goal is Wleh’s first league goal from three games, while PKNS continues a good run of form in the second phase of the league.
