In an effort to address the sanitation issues on the Bushrod Island, the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has demonstrated its commitment and donated 10 shovels, 20 rain boots, 10 rakes, 20 rain coats, 40 hand gloves, and 10 cutlasses to the residents of Clara Town to clean the drainages in their community. At the same time, the company has donated big freezer to the Administration of the University of Liberia the weekend.
Presenting the items to the residents of Clara Town, on behalf of Prof. Sumo Kupee, Managing Director of Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, the Public Relations Manager of LPRC, Mr. William K. Morris said,” Prof. Sumo Kupee has sent me to present these items to you people so that you clean the drainages here in your community because sanitation is very essential.”
Mr. Morris said the residents of Clara Town had earlier written Prof. Kupee, asking him for assistance to enable them clean the drainages in their community and in response, Prof. Kupee has sent him (Morris) to the community to make the donation to the residents.
The Chairman of Clara Town Community, Mr. David Jacob lauded the Managing Director Sumo Kupee for the significant donation made to his community. He said residents of Clara Town will always remember LPRCfamily for the wonderful thing done for the community people.
Mr. Jacob said 69 boys are involved in the cleaning up of drainages in the community and are seriously making sure that the environment be clean.
Meanwhile the LPRC Public Relation Manager has also donated one big freezer to the Administration of the University of Liberia on behalf of Prof. Sumo Kupee.
The Vice President for Institutional Development at the University of Liberia (UL), Mr. Walter T. Wiles congratulated the management of Liberia Petroleum Refining Company for helping the University.He said the freezer will be used for the intended purpose.
