Deputy Minister for Commerce and Trade Services, Cyril A. Allen II said the National Economic Census (NEC) will provide the needed economic data for the publication of Liberia’s National Account.
Deputy Minister Allen noted that such a census will also impact into Liberia’s national Trade Policy for the growth of the national economy.
The Deputy Minister, who spoke at the one day seminar with representatives of large businesses in Monrovia to sensitize them about the 2015 National Economic Census, said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will continue to support these efforts and ensure that the Ministry will participate to the fullest in this engagement.
The Deputy Commerce Boss expressed gratitude and his ministry’s appreciation to the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) for this endeavor which will further enlighten stakeholders on the importance of the National Economic Census and the respective contribution required for the successful conduct of economic activities.
The seminar held at a local entertainment center outside Monrovia informed business establishments about the counting and data collection that LISGIS will undertake and create room for large businesses in Liberia as data collection is critical to the success of the NEC, which will contribute towards the development of Liberia.
