Some residents of the Borough of New Kru Town have expressed great frustration and fear of sea erosion that is still threatening the fence of the D.Twe Memorial High School and communities in the vicinity. According to the residents, since the erosion started, many people have been made homeless and properties worth thousands of United States dollars have been damaged.
“My brother, just imagine; the sea erosion is still threatening other communities and the fence of D.Twe Memorial High School. If the government does not do anything about this precarious situation now, the school’s fence is likely to collapse, ”residents lamented.
The residents are calling on the Government of Liberia, International Community, International and local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and philanthropists to address this situation.
