The Youth United to Protect Democracy has strongly condemned the statement made by the Aide de Camp to the President of the Republic of Liberia, Major General Jeremiah Hinneh who said people who are using public funds for political reasons should not be given credence in 2017.”
The group said it sees such a statement as undermining people who have well intent to empower the Liberian people.
The Youth Group said Major General Hinneh who is a military man should focus on the code of ethics governing the military and refrain from making such a statement as a high profile official of government because such a statement has the propensity to further divide the Liberian people.
The Youth Group noted that Major General Hinneh should concentrate on safeguarding the life of the President of the Republic of Liberia and stop engaging in politics.
“We know very well where such statement is directed. We will remain very resolute to ensure those who are infecting the atmosphere with statements that have the proclivity to divide and rule the Liberian society are dealt with accordingly” the group said.
The Youth Group is calling on the Ministry of National Defense to clearly define the role of the Aide de Camp since he has decided to derail from his statutory mandate.
According to a release signed by the chairman, Jeremiah Blojay such a man who has no economic background should be concentrating on protecting the Liberian people whose tax payer money he enjoys.
The chairman of the group is calling on all well-meaning Liberians who are contributing to the Liberia society to give no recognition to such a man.
Meanwhile, the Youth United to Protect Democracy said it will shortly present a position statement to the President of Liberia calling for his immediate resignation as Aide de Camp to the President.
