David Kortie, Public Works Ex-Director Ordered Arrested

Criminal Court C at the Temple of Justice has issued a writ of arrest on the former Director of Communication at the Ministry of Public Works and the Director of Flashpoint Newspaper, Mr. David Kortie on several charges.

The indictment from the grand jury that between March 2010 and July 2010 or there about, the above named defendants, of the City of Monrovia, acting jointly and or severally in various capacities, in total violation of the statutory laws of Liberia made and provided, and with criminal and wicked intent to deprive the government and people of Liberia through the execution of Contract No. MPW-SF-0008-06/10 valued at US$12,600 on May 1, 2010.

It said the contract was made by and between the Ministry of Public Works and Flashpoint Consultancy, Inc. for the purpose of properly engaging, sensitizing and consulting with the general public for better understanding of the Ministry’s programs/activities.

However, the indictment said these individuals did knowingly, feloniously, purposely, criminally, maliciously, willfully, and intentionally steal, pilfer, take and carry away, exercise unauthorized control over and converted the amount for their use and benefit or the use and benefits of others under various schemes and thereby committed the felonious crimes of economic sabotage, misapplication of entrusted property and criminal conspiracy in total violation of the laws of Liberia.
