As efforts mount to reopen schools throughout the country, a citizen of Grand Bassa County has embarked on the renovation of several public schools in the county.
The renovation of the public schools in Grand Bassa is part of efforts to boost Government’s educational plan as schools are expected to reopen next week after been closed for a protracted period of time due to the outbreak of Ebola in the country.
Speaking to this paper recently, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Bropleh said the initiative is aimed at helping schools in the county to build the capacities and mold the minds of young people through education.
Rev. Dr. Bropleh pledged his unflinching commitment to teach in some schools in the county including the Grand Bassa Community College (GBCC). Rev. Dr. Bropleh called on others to help change the minds of young people by educating them in order to move Bassa forward.
Also speaking, the Vice Principal of the Kpelleh Town Public School, Mr. Willington Wayda, lauded Dr. Bropleh for the kind gesture and promised to reopen schools as soon as the renovation work is completed.
Schools that have benefited from the renovation process include, the Kpelle Town Public School, the Upper Buchanan Elementary School and the Elementary Demonstration School and other public schools in the county. Mr. Wayda made the disclosure when he took a team of constructors at the Kpelleh Town Public School who are expected to begin major renovation works.
