Several Long Serving Chiefs Honored

The Government of Liberian through President Sirleaf has honored and certificated five traditional Chiefs of Liberia. The Chiefs were honored in Gbarnga City, Bong County at ceremony marking the official launch of the Deconcentration Platform.

The five long-serving Liberian Chiefs mainly from Bong County were recognized and presented certificates of recognition for their outstanding services to the country over the years. The Liberian leader, who chose to come down from the platform to meet with them, extended special thanks to the senior traditional leaders for their exceptional services to the country.

Responding on behalf of the honorees earlier, Dakpannah Paramount Chief Gbarworlor, thanked President Sirleaf for all that she’s doing to rebuild the country. He praised her for the over ten years of sustained peace in the country.

The five chiefs included Chief Gbellay Kamara (95), Paramount Chief of Din-Gola Chiefdom, Todee District, Montserrado County; Chief Flomo T. Gbarworlor (92), Paramount Chief of Jorquelleh Chiefdom, Jorquelleh District, Bong County and 2009 Independence Day National Orator; Chief FlomoGbokolo (91), Paramount Chief Sanoyea Chiefdom, Sanoyea District, Bong County; Chief NyanTarkula, Clan Chief of Gahnmu Clan, Panta District, Bong County; and Chief FlomoGonkpa (90), Clan Chief of Garyea Clan, Yellequelleh District, Bong County.
