One of Liberia’s premier banks, the Ecobank over the weekend received “Financial Institution Of The year Award” from the Gender International Magazine Publications and Resource Center in Monrovia.
Presenting the award to Ecobank Liberia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and publisher of the Magazine, Mildred Dean said the bank is honored for performing its social responsibility as a Pan African Bank and providing invaluable services to the nation especially during the heat of the Ebola crisis.
According to the annual award committee chair, Mildred Dean, the award is dedicated to heroes and heroines for putting their lives and resources to help contain this deadly Ebola Virus Disease in Liberia.
Madam Dean recounted the many contributions made by Ecobank during the Ebola crisis as the first financial institution to provide the Government of Liberia with Ambulance, catering to Ebola survivors and providing medical supplies, PPEs to the staff of Ecobank.
In brief remarks, Mr. AdekolaAdeleke, outgoing president of the bank lauded the Media group for bestowing such honor on the institution and said they felt most honored to have served the Liberian people and making immense contribution during the Ebola crisis.
Mr. Adeleke pointed out that receiving the award from the Media group will inspire Ecobank Liberia to do more as a financial institution to improve the living condition of everyone living in Liberia.
“Due to the preventive measures the management of Ecobank-Liberia has carried on, we have not experienced any Ebola case in all of our branches in the country,” the former Ecobank President expressed.
