Human Development Foundation (HDF) in collaboration with the West African Agricultural Productivity Program (WAAPP) had held one Innovation Platform confab on Banana Farm, Senjeh District, Bomi County, aimed at strategies to produce more cassava and other crops in the county.
The Executive Director of Human Development Foundation (HDF), Mr. Sensee L. Sirleaf, said the Innovation Platform will help farmers to work together and produce more crops in Bomi County because Agriculture play a significant role in country; therefore people should be serious at all times because food production is undoubtedly essential.
“I am happy to see you people engaging in farming and producing cassava and other crops here in Bomi County; continue with your hard work, ”Mr. Sirleaf encouraged farmers.
Also speaking at the confab, the Assistant Development Superintendent of Bomi County, Mr. Ernest Gray David said some partners have ensured to give additional support to the farmers.” If we produce our own food in Bomi County, we will be respected in the country,” The Assistant Development Superintendent has promised to work with farmers to make sure that the Innovation Platform project be implemented.
The Secretary General of the Innovation Platform Mr. ZinnahQuaye averred that the Innovation Platform will help the farmers to produce more crops and that famers should encourage each other to produce more food in the county.
“Some individuals always said that Bomi people are very lazy and do not make farms; therefore let us get up on our feet and work because this Innovation Platform is a great opportunity and will guard us in the farming sector,” Mr. Quaye stated.
Bomi County Agriculture Officer, Mr. Kemoh Sheriff, told the farmers that WAAPP will support the Innovation Platform He urged the farmers to be vigilant in the farming activities. The Innovation Platform is comprised of producers, consumers, farmers, motorists and local officials of government.
