Grand Gedeh County Representative, Zoe Emmanuel Pennue, has called for the recounting of ballots coming from Gbahzohn District, Grand Gedeh County.
Speaking to a local radio station in an interview yesterday, the Grand Gedeh County lawmaker who is one of the contestants in the Special Senatorial Election in the county said the election results in Gbahzohn District were tampered with by workers of the National Elections Commission assigned in the county.
Pennue said the counting of the ballots in Gbahzohn was marred by contradiction and other form of irregularities. Rep. Pennue said he will not accept any results coming from Gbahzohn District as a result of the cheating and contradiction that went on in that part of Grand Gedeh County.
He alleged that his own of numbers from the polling centers were greatly tampered with and as such any result from the district will not be accepted by him or his campaign team. “My representatives at the various polling centers did not sign some of the tally sheets therefore, it lacks transparency,” he said.
At the same time, report emanating from Grand Gedeh County says a candidate of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has taken an early lead in the race for the Senatorial seat of the county. Mr. Marshall Dennis is said to be on top of the other ten candidates also vying for the Senatorial post.
