The Chinese sponsored Liberian Students, a collaboration of Liberian Students in China and those currently on training in China over the weekend made several donations to the Island Clinic in Tweh Farm and Jenewonde, Tewor District in Grand Cape Mount County.
Making the donation, the President of the Student Association, Munibah K. Johnson, expressed his deepest sorrow for the loss of lives as a result of the deadly Ebola virus. The group gave several bags of rice, Clorox, Chlorine, protective hand gloves, and other bleaches to the Island Clinic ETU.
The group finalized the donation to the citizens of Jenewonde, when it gave more than ten bags of rice, oil, bleaches, and other assorted items to the citizens.
Receiving the items, Island Medical Director, Dr. Williametta S. Williams-Gibson lauded the Chinese sponsored Liberian students for the donation. She also thanked the leadership of the student union for coming to the aid of the ETU with those assorted items.
Meanwhile, Jenewonde Town Chief, Jerbeh Sannoh who also joined in appreciating the students called on others to emulate the fine gesture of the students.
According to Chief Sannoh and other officials, including elders and chiefs of Jenewonde, this was the first time the residents of the town have directly benefited from a non-governmental organization.
