The Liberia National Red Cross Recently signed an agreement with the Internal Affairs and Health for support in the area of Dead Body Management. The team as per the agreement is charged with the responsibilities to collect and beg Ebola or Ebola related or suspected bodies and transport them to the crematorium for disposal.
The team under the supervision of Madam Roselyn Ballah has been doing excellently well to ensure that Red Cross meets its responsibilities under the Agreement by picking up bodies from the various communities in and around Monrovia through the various teams.
This aggressiveness has continued to increase foreign media interest to highlighting it to the outside world on the roles of the Liberian Red Cross in the Ebola response with support from its Movement partners and others.
The National Society Communication team again on Thursday led two foreign media groups (the Kyodo news from Japan and AFP) in the field to showcase the work of the Liberian Red Cross in the area of DBM.
But the Communication Team through its photographer DrseyehAcqui was able to capture some of the interesting scenes and I am pleased to further share them with you for your viewing. BIG THANK YOU to Roselyn and her teams and to the National Society for the intervention and partners for support. Check out some of the highlight below on the response activities: This is the INQUIRER Newspaper’s public service.
