MCC, Partners Conduct Awareness For Ebola Prevention

The Monrovia City Corporation, in collaboration with partners on Wednesday conducted a day-long awareness on the deadly Ebola virus which took place in one of the conference rooms of the Monrovia City Corporation-MCC brought together several staff and employees of MCC who were taught basic preventive measures to take in combating the Ebola virus.
To date, the Ebola virus has claimed the lives of several Liberians in the country, with Lofa County currently being quarantined as a result of the deadly Ebola virus.
Speaking at the awareness program, the Project Coordinator of the Monrovia City Corporation on Ebola Mr. Frank Kruah elaborated on the importance of the Workshop’s objective.
According to Mr. Kruah, there is need for all Liberians to stick to the belief that this disease exists and that Government and partners are doing everything possible to have the situation arrested and put under control.
The MCC Ebola Project Coordinator however lauded the supports of both the United States and China Governments for identifying with Liberia during this time of agony which the country has been faced with.
For their parts, the MCC Zonal Community Management Team-CMT Coordinator Samuel K. Tarplah and Sennay Carlor III, Manager, MCC’s Environmental Health and Safety Standard and Re-enforcement Unit at the Environmental Health and Safety Department said the workshop was very necessary.
According to them, lessons learnt from the workshop will enable them effectively inform community residents on the importance of preventing themselves from the deadly Ebola which has claimed and continues to claim many more lives.
