One Arrested For “Poisoning” Well

A man in Margibi County is under police custody on allegation of poisoning a well in Harbel which reportedly caused the death of several persons.

Police spokesperson, Sam Collins, who was contacted on the issue yesterday, confirmed the arrest of the man around the Schieflin area, but declined to state whether or not it was because of the alleged poisoning.

But it is also said that the man is claiming that it was chlorine and not poison, as being claimed by residents because of the reported deaths.

Over the weekend, report emanating from Unification Town, Margibi County says at least 25 persons have died under strange circumstances.

According to a local radio station, the incident occurred following a funeral service at the Zion Healing Holy Church in Unification Town near the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County.

Our information says the 25 persons died when they reportedly ate some contaminated food and water in Dolo’s Town, Harbel, where they went for a repast at the home of a lady identified as Patience Moore, the daughter of the Choir Director of the church.

According to our information, eight out of eleven of the bereaved family died in the strange circumstances including children. Families of Madam Patience Moore are yet to be reached as they are said to have left their Dolo’s Town residence in Harbel due to fear.

Though the cause of the incident is yet to be established, some of those spoken to said a poisonous chemical that kills quickly was given to some individuals by some government officials to kill the victims.

Reason for such wicked and criminal attitude is yet to be known but sources told this paper that it was intended to increase the death rate of the deadly Ebola that has engulfed the country. This information is yet to be independently confirmed. Investigation leading to the death of the25 persons continues.
