Senator Jah Challenges Senatorial Aspirants
Margibi County Senior Senator Clarice Alpha Jah has challenged politicians in the county vowing for the senatorial seat to form themselves into a coalition and face her in the upcoming election if they think they are strong enough to remove her from the seat.
“If there are other senators who think they can take the seat of Margibi, I say to them whatever party you may come from or whatever independent candidates you may be, form yourselves into a single candidate and come against me then we will know who has the interest of Margibi at heart” , she noted.
She maintained that former Liberian President Charles Taylor once said, ‘ if you think you are the best leader, form yourselves into coalition and come to face me…”
She spoke recently to this paper in Kakata, Margibi County when she was endorsed by the Liberty Party as the only candidate on the Party’s ticket in Margibi for the upcoming 2014 senatorial election.
The program was attended by the Political Leader of the Liberty Party Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, Gbarpolu County District Two Lawmaker Malai G. Gbogar, local authorities, Muslim and Christian Communities Representatives as well as motorcyclists among others.
The Margibi Lawmaker who now has few months left for her current term as senator of the county, added that it is now time to put Margibi first and forget about the too much political talks that are not beneficial to the county.
She said there are many people who are now pretending to be the best person for the seat noting that such persons must be judged by their past performances in the county.
She also said, she believes that she is the best to lead Margibi because of what she has done and is doing for the people of Margibi County.
Currently, Margibi has over 13 persons who have expressed interest to contest for the senatorial post for the county in October. They are the incumbent Sen. Jah, Prof. Dao A. Sonii, Rev. Dr. Jim W. Tornolah, and Mr. Saah R. Gbollie (Former Rep. for Margibi) who are topping the list among others. By: Dougba K. McCay in Kakata;0886284586/0775691988
