Father, Son Guilty OF Human Trafficking

Criminal Court “A” at the Temple of Justice has brought down a guilty verdict on Mr. Anthony Kassabli and Habba Kou Fawaz for the crime of Illicit trafficking in human being and Migrant Smuggling, Gang Rape and possession and sale of physical object for lethal use.

According to court records, a person is guilty of the offense of trafficking in human beings and migrant smuggling, also a predicate offense to money laundering and terrorist who recruits, transports, transfers, facilitates the transfer or travel of or receive another person by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion , of abduction of fraud, of deception, abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability, or giving or receiving payments or benefits to achieve consent of a person having control over another person for the purpose of exploitation of person; or carries on a transaction regarding a person for one of the following purposes of that person.

According to the ruling, the Special Grand Jurors for Montserrado County, ruled that the Defendants, Anthony Kassabli, Edmod Kassabli and Habba Kou Fawaz, committed Gang Rape, a felony of the first degree follows, that the Defendants operate the Moulin Rouje Bar and Restaurant on Center Street and use the name to recruit persons by placing them under pretense that they would be employed to work in said restaurant either as bar attendant, cook and waitress and would be paid between US$500 to US$1,000.

The court also ruled that early last year, the defendant by the use of deception brought into the country Najated Maniani, Malaka Budhi and Amina Gbaul of Moroccan nationality to work as bar tenders at the. Moulin Rouje Bar and Restaurant.

The court also ruled that the act committed by the defendants grossly violates Sections 14.70 (2) of the Penal Law of Liberia. The ruling also added that the defendants committed Gang Rape, a first degree felony, if he or she purposely or facilities rape or agree with one or more persons to engage in or cause the performance of conduct which shall institute Rape; that sexual intercourse means penetration however slight, of the vagina, anus mouth or any other opening of another person by the penis; or, penetration, however, slight of the vagina or anus of another person by a foreign object or any other part of the body (other than the penis).
