The Secretary General of Liberia Labor Congress (LLC), Mr. J. Nyemah Natt Sr. is appealing to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and her officials of government to pay Libercell Mobile Company’s employees.
In an exclusive interview with this paper, Mr.Natt disclosed that since the Mobile Company stopped its operation, there has been no pay or stipends for those employees.
According to Mr.Natt, the employees are currently beset with acute financial strangulation problems, thereby causing their children to be out of school, a situation the employees describe as being insensitive to their plight in the country.
“My brother, just imagine since government of Liberia (GOL) seized Libercell Mobile Company’s license and Frequency, hence the employees find it difficult to sustain themselves because they have not gotten any pay; everything is hard on them,” Mr. Natt stated further.
Meanwhile, Mr.Natt is also calling on International Partners, International Labor Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations and Government of Liberia to kindly address the payment issue affecting the Libercell Mobile Company’s employees.
However, Mr.Natt has called on the Libercell employees to exercise their patience because he will continue to appeal to President Sirleaf and her government officials to render assistance to them.
