Mayor Gibson Fetes Children

The Mayor of the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC), Cyvette Gibson on Friday, May 23, 2014 feted children of the Paynesville Town Hall Community and immediate environs at its newly refurbished town hall.

The Mayor disclosed that her corporation usually entertains the kids two times a month which gathering she indicated was characterized by video show, distribution of toys as well as pop corns, cookies, cool aid etc.

She indicated that after the kids had viewed the video there was a question and answer period where a toy was given to the kid who answers a question about the video show. She intimated that the program was also a recreation for the kids because she pointed out that it stimulates their minds and exposes them to public speaking etc.

According to the hard working and far sighted Mayor, the program has made a tremendous impact on the lives of the kids which she indicated was evidenced by the gradual increase in the attendance.

“We would like to extend the program out of this community but our main challenge was the lack of finance,” she admitted. She however used the occasion to encourage business entities and individuals to support the cooperation’s initiative for the sake of the kids who she pointed out deserve more from the society.

The gathering which was sponsored by Just Juicy Company and Accident Insurance Company of Liberia (ACICOL) brought together more than five hundred children who were seen in joyous mood eating and drinking assorted beverages.
