U.S. Dentists To Render Free Service In Cape Mount

A medical team from the United States-based Cross Culture Care (CCC) is in the country to perform free dental services on more than 1,000 Liberians at the St. Timothy Government Hospital in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

This was disclosed on Monday by the administrator of the hospital, Aaron Massaley, in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.

He said CCC is an international NGO founded by Dr. Robert Montana to provide free medical services for people in ‘Third World’ countries.

He said because St. Timothy Government Hospital is a referral hospital, beneficiaries are expected to come from Bomi, Gbarpolu and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

According to Mr. Massaley, the medical team, which is headed by the CCC founder, Dr. Robert Montana, and a Registered Nurse Candy Treft, is expected to be in the country for three weeks.

He said the organization has reached an agreement with the management of the hospital to provide them with an ambulance to facilitate their operations in the country.

Mr. Massaley stated further that the CCC has also finalized plans to provide safe drinking water to the hospital to stop patients and hospital staff from drinking water from creeks and other unsafe sources.

He said currently, the hospital does not have an x-ray machine, noting that as a result, cases that need to be tested by an x-ray technician are sent to Bomi County or the capital Monrovia for redress and that the hospital is also in dire need of a utility vehicle to enhance its operations.
