The body of the late Bishop Boniface Nyema Dalieh of the Cape Palmas Diocese of the Catholic Church of Liberia was on Friday, May 16, buried in Harper, Maryland County.
Bishop Dalieh’s interment in the St. Theresa Cathedral followed four hours of Eucharistic Mass conducted by Archbishop Lewis Zeigler of the Monrovia Diocese.
Delivering the funeral discourse, Bishop Zeigler said the Catholic Church of Liberia has lost one of its pillars by the death of Bishop Dalieh, who served the Cape Palmas Diocese for 40 years.
The Archbishop classified Dalieh, who was the Bishop of Cape Palmas Diocese as a God- fearing Christian who served his people with commitment.
Bishop Zeigler has, meanwhile, called on members of the diocese to use the death of their Bishop as an inspiration to unite and move the Diocese forward.
Attending the funeral were delegations from the Ivory Coast and Nigeria, with others from the Monrovia and Gbarnga Diocese, the Maryland County Legislative Caucus, and the Archbishop of the Episcopal Church of Liberia, Rev. Dr. Jonathan Hart.
Tubman University president, Elizabeth Davies Russell and other officials of government from Maryland County were also among those who attended the funeral of the fallen Bishop.
