Report reaching this paper says lack of funds is hampering the July 26 projects in Grand Kru and Sinoe Counties, and citizens living in those counties are literally bewildered about the successful hosting of the July 26 Independence Day.
According to the report, since last year, the Government of Liberia has not given any fund to the two counties as it relates to the July 26 Independence Day celebration and citizens of that counties are not sure that progress will be made before July 26 because National Government did not release the funds.
Meanwhile, report also says that Grand Kru and Sinoe superintendents are always at the doorstep of Internal Affairs Ministry just to get the July 26 Independence Day celebration funds and start doing something for their counties but nothing has been done.
The report highlighted that the Superintendents of the two counties have had several meetings with some government officials and Internal Affairs Minister for the release of the July 26 Independence Day Celebration funds but government is yet to respond to the issue.
This year’s July 26 Independence Day celebration is expected to be hosted in Grand Kru and Sinoe in the Southeastern region of Liberia and that it will be celebrated in Greenville,Sinoe county by President Ellen Sirleaf and her government officials ,International Partners and the citizenas as well.
With two months to July 26 Independence Day Celebration; will there be any progress made in those two counties before the celebration? Because the sole purpose of carrying July 26 Independence Day celebration to any county is to initiate development and make great impact in that county.
