The Mighty Barrolle Sports Association has announced an infusion of a new corps of officials in its Administration to assist in efforts at reversing the floundering fortunes of the Association’s various teams.
The once revered “Rollers” Football Team currently languishes in the second tier of Liberian Football while its basketball outfit remains without a Championship Title for several years now.
The appointment of the new officials to assist the Julia Duncan-Cassell-led Administration came at a brainstorming and revival meeting of Barrolle Sports Association involving former players and officials as well as stalwarts of the Association held over the weekend in Monrovia.
According to a Barrolle Statement issued, those appointed by the Acting Chairman of the Board, Counselor Theophilus C. Gould in consultation with President Julia Duncan-Cassell are: Washington Blay- Vice President Operations; Mr Ivan Brown- Secretary General; James Salinsa Debbah – Technical Director; Mr D. Zeogar Wilson- Vice President for International Affairs and Mr Ledgerhood Julius Rennie- Assistant Secretary for Press and Public Affairs.
Others appointed are: Mr Oliver Rouhana, Chairman and Mr John Y. Brownell, Co-Chair –Ways and Means Committee.
Announcing the Appointment, The Acting Board Chairman of Mighty Barrolle Sports Association admonished the new officials to work with dedication and commitment, especially at a time when the Association is at its lowest ebb.
“These assignments will require of each of you a little more sacrifice of your professional time and resources to perform, so that we get Barrolle back to its once enviable status” Chairman Gould admonished the officials.
“You are to begin immediate work at deriving a comprehensive work plan for the resuscitation of the Association, while identifying a new office facility from where a functional secretariat will work to administer the affairs of Barrolle” he charged the revamped Administration.
Madam Duncan-Cassell welcomed the new officials and expressed thanks and appreciation to former players of Barrolle for coming forward to assist her Administration in managing the affairs of the association.
The Barrolle President also used the occasion to acknowledge the role played by some influential stalwarts of Barrolle for their continued support to the Association and called on all former officials, supporters, fans and sympathizers of the “ROLLERS” to join the renewed efforts at restoring Mighty Barrolle to its rightful place in the sporting sphere of Liberia.
“Barrolle has made all us gratified members in the past, so we must now join ranks in rebuilding the Association so that we can again become proud ‘Kanyan Pepper’ members” Madam Duncan-Cassell remarked.
Meanwhile, a mass Barrolle Meeting is being planned for the next two weeks, when the Administration is to report to the Board on it plan of action to administer the affairs of the Association.
