Co-Chairperson of the National Civil Society Council of Liberia, Mr. Daniel A. Towalid, has lauded the African Development Bank for the great invitation extended to the Civil Society Organizations to be part of the meeting.
Mr. Towalid said the Civil Society Organizations in the country lack of capacity building and that is a major challenge in Liberia.
According to Mr.Towalid, the procurement procedure that has been put in place by African Development Bank is unique but Civil Society Organizations need to get capacity training to be able for them evaluate and monitor projects that have been implemented in Liberia by ADB.
“The act of building the capacity of Civil Society Organizations will enhance CSO to understand the procurement process because African Development Funds had to be monitored throughout the country,” Mr. Towalid intimated.
Mr.Towalid said despite African Development Bank giving out loans to Liberians but there is a need that she helps and builds the capacity of Civil Society Organizations.
Meanwhile, Mr.Towalid has appealed to the African Development Bank to empower Civil Society Organizations in the country.
