Police Grabs “Notorious” Armed Robber

The Liberia National Police has arrested one of Liberia’s most notorious armed robbers who was involved in armed robbing a white land cruiser Jeep.

The jeep was conveying over US$150,000.00 for the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI) from Monrovia to the Liberia Agriculture Company (LAC) in Grand Bassa County on August 29, 2012, when it was armed robbed.

Emmanuel S. Kennedy the rang leader of the armed robbers and his girlfriend Linda Cooper, were arrested on March 24, 2014 from a criminal hideout in the Chicken Soup Factory community in Gardnerville following tip off to police intelligence .

The release issued yesterday said two single barrel short guns and ammunitions including other proceed of the crime were discovered from his home.

Police Spokesman Sam Collins said suspect Emmanuel S. Kennedy AkA “Shakaveh” on September 24, 2012 connived with suspect Bill Nicol, Constance Jallah, and Sam Howard, and stormed the Eco-bank sub branch located on Cuttington Campus in Bong County in which they made away with US$240,588.00 and LRD 1,745.375.00 respectively

The notorious robber was one of those who broke jail from the Correctional Palace in Grand Bassa County and has since been on the run before his arrest Monday.

The suspect according to his crime record on February 7, 2014 armed robbed a resident of Zubah Town, in Duport Road and made away with US$ 70,000 worth of gold and other valuables.

At the same time, the Liberia National Police is seeking information from the public that will lead to the arrest of convicted armed robber Lewis Kennedy who was part of a jail break in Grand Gedeh County.

The police are also warning the public not to shelter Mr. Kennedy due to his dangerous nature.
