The Rev. Ezekiel M. S. Davies has taken over the affairs of the Evangelical Christian Church in Liberia (ECCL) as Field Superintendent succeeding the Rev. George T. K. Sobeor.
According to the Churches’ doctrine, Rev Davies will serve the Church for two years term beginning at March 9, 2014.
Rev. Davies was inducted into office as Field Superintendent before a record crowd of the Churches’ congregation and well wishers at an elaborate program held at the United Evangelical Christian Church on Preston Street in the port City Of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
Inducting Rev. Davies into office, Elder Arthur Whoe; Co-Chairman of the National Board of the ECCL charged him to lead God’s flocks and be servants who will be willing to lead in God’s direction.
Delivering his induction sermon, the Rev. Ezekiel M.S. Davies called for unity in the body of Christ noting that the Church must be and make a difference in the society.
Rev. Davies said the Church especially the ECCL must be trusted and place of hope for all, where the people can be strengthened through evangelism.
The ECCL Field Superintendent said all must work to spread the gospel and bring lasting faith and hope to its congregation instead of fighting for power.
Others inducted to assist Rev. Davies with the work of the Church were the Rev. Richard W. Bannie, Sr. Assistant Field Superintendent and Rev. Richard K. Reeves, General Secretary.
The ECCL new leadership replaces the outgoing National leadership which was led by the Rev. George T. K. Sobeor, now Superintendent Emeritus, Rev. Z. Abenego Wesseh ; Assistant Field Superintendent and Rev. Albert O. Bryant, General Secretary.
