LEC Begins Mass Power Shedding

The Liberia Electricity Corporation, LEC says it will tonight begin a mass power shedding in Monrovia and its surrounding areas due to the shortage of fuel in the country.    The LEC says the power shedding will affect residential, businesses, government buildings and other places of work.

A release from the LEC says during this period, customers will experience four to five hours of power outage.

However, only the Monrovia business district will receive electricity power for the better part of the day.

The release further said the LEC will conduct an assessment on Monday, February 10 to determine the next course of action and assures the general public that it is making frantic efforts to remedy the situation by Wednesday.
