Female Journalist Heads AG Church Communication Dept.
INQUIRER Editor, Melissa Chea-Annan has been named the Director of Communication for the Assemblies of God Liberia, Inc., (AGL).
Journalist Chea-Annan was appointed recently by the outgoing General Superintendent of the AGL, Rev. Dr. Jimmy B. Kuoh at the end of the 16th Biennial General Assembly in Ganta, Nimba County.
Rev. Kuoh informed the congregation that Journalist Annan will coordinate all of the media activities of the church throughout the country, including the Radio Hope.
Journalist Annan is a 2012-2013 Hubert H. Humphrey Scholar from the University of Maryland, in the United States of America. Since 1997, she has worked for The INQUIRER Newspaper, the oldest post-war independent newspaper in Liberia. Journalist Annan who is a 2007 graduate of the AME Zion University holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Criminal Justice Administration. She previously covered the Presidency as well as the Legislative and Judiciary Branches of Government. The INQUIRER Editor is the former vice president and former Assistant Secretary General of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), the umbrella organization of journalists in the country. She is also a correspondent assigned to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), (2008-present) and the NordicNews online based in Sweden (2008-present).
