A non-governmental organizational group, The Patriotic Consciousness Association of Liberia (PACA) has named and honored the Senior Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church; Rev. Dr. Edwin A. Gbelly as its “Clergyman of the Year 2013/2014.”
Rev. Gbelly’s honor was bestowed upon him on Sunday by officials of PACA for what they described as his influential role in contributing immensely to the restoration of peace in Liberia through his ministry.
PACA’s Executive Director, Frederick Baye, flanked by other officials of the Organization explained that since its existence and without government’s support, the Assembly of God Mission School system has provided sound and quality education to Liberians throughout the country, and some of the school’s products are making positive impact, not just in government but in other sectors of the society.
Mr. Baye observed that apart from the discipline instilled in the students, the First Assembly of God Church, under the leadership of Rev. Gbelly has and continues to instill moral discipline not just to its members but everyone who listens to him.
PACA’s Executive boss praised Rev. Gbelly for being transparent in his teachings and further urged him to remain vigilant in the execution of his duties. According to him Rev. Gbelly was selected unanimously by PACA’s Executives throughout the country.
Mr. Baye also observed that the country is presently going through economic war as the rate continues to increase on a daily basis, while poverty is also on the increase throughout the country. He called on Rev. Gbelly to remain transparent and continue his role in the restoration of peace in Liberia.
The Senior Pastor of the First A.G. Church, Rev. Gbelly commended the Executives of PACA for his preferment as Clergyman of the Year 2013/2014. He stated that the award has empowered him to work harder and to continue serving his country and people with honesty.
