The illegal burial of corpses at night in Caldwell, New Georgia Cemetery has become of serious concern as the Chairlady of the Town Center Community, Caldwell, New Georgia, Madam Susie Bloh J. Apenahier has raised alarm.
Madam Apenahier disclosed that on Saturday, November 23, 2013 around 10:30 P.M. an employee of the John F. Kennedy Hospital, Mr. Dominic Wollorh secretly carried a decomposed body to the Caldwell New Georgia Cemetery in Town Center Community and buried it without the knowledge of the community leaders.
According to Apenahier, on Sunday morning some residents told her that the vehicle which carried the decomposed body at the graveyard was from a funeral home but did not really know whether it came from the Striker Funeral Home or from the Abraham Robert Funeral Home. When Madam Apenahier contacted the Management of Striker Funeral Home about the vehicle issue, they said it was not their funeral car, but was later informed that the car came from Abraham Robert Funeral Home.
According to Madam Apenahier, the New Georgia Township Commissioner, Mr. Lewis K.Wleh summoned Mr. Abraham Robert to his office in Topo Village for consultation relative to the clandestine burial issue, but in the meeting Abraham Robert said his funeral home never buried a body or never gave any vehicle to be used for burial at that time but he admitted that he has just one funeral home vehicle.
Madam Apenahier told this paper that during the meeting, Abraham Robert said at the time the burial took place; he was in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County constructing a funeral home.
“I have contacted the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Commander, Fred Johnson at Zone Seven Police Depot in Caldwell to launch a thorough investigation about the illegal burial carried on recently by Mr. Dominic Wollorh,” Madam Apenahier said.
Madam Apenahier noted that it is on unlawful, unprofessional, unrealistic, and unethical to bury any corpse at night without doing it in the day and it creates a great fear in the community because health hazard could affect the entire people in the community.
Meanwhile, Madam Apenahier is calling on the Government of Liberia, Non-Govermental Organizations, and Civil Society Organizations to address this issue that is worrisome in the New Georgia Community.
When this paper contacted Commissioner Lewis K Wleh, he said Dominic Wollorh admitted at his office that he (Mr.Wollorh) used Abraham Robert Funeral Home car to bury the decomposed body at Caldwell New Georgia Cemetery in Town Center Community.
When our reporter contacted Mr. Dominic Wollorh on the burial issue, he admitted that he buried the body at Caldwell New George Cemetery between 7:30 p.m. to 8 p. m. but refused to tell which of the funeral cars he used during burial.
“My man let me tell you that I cannot explain anything to you because I work for an institution and you can get to my Public Relation Officer, Brother Yealue,” Mr. Wollorh stated.
Mr. Wollorh said he wants to see the so-called Chairlady who wants to tarnish his reputation because he is a good man and when the Public Relations Officer (PRO) was contacted Yealue refused to speak on the issue because he had no knowledge. Investigation Continues.
