Miss Liberia Bidding Process Extended

The Steering Committee of the Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant has announced that it is still accepting expressions of interest from eligible persons and interested companies to provide the requisite services for the hosting of the Annual Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant.

According to a statement from the Committee, eligible persons and interested companies must provide information indicating that they are qualified to host the Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant.

The Committee said they can do so through the history of past events hosted, brochures, tickets, description of similar events, DVD recordings, past performance records from at least four clients, or other relevant experience in pageantry.

The Committee said the franchise process which was opened on September 10th to all qualified applicants will continue until October 31, 2013 and noted that bid documents are available at the Ministry of Gender and Development for a non-refundable fee of $150.00 USD.

Steering Committee said qualified applicants must present a Police clearance of all staff, be a registered business in Liberia and at least 51 percent Liberian owned and have an office space.

The Committee also noted that qualified applicants should have not been convicted of any felony or no prior convictions; franchise holder must ensure that contestants represent the broad spectrum of the country and ensure that all contestants are protected and their rights are respected.

The Committee further noted that qualified applicants must be able to demonstrate their capacity to host the pageant and the organization’s bank account should contain 50 percent of the cost of the event or the organization should demonstrate financial capacity through a security bond of the same value.

The Committee also stressed that the organization should be licensed to conduct pageants in Liberia through MICAT, have the ability to protect the integrity of the Franchise, have the capacity to prepare all of the contestants to participate in Miss Liberia Pageant and have the capacity to prepare Miss Liberia to participate in the Miss World Pageant.
