Fuamah Citizens Refute Claim Against Rep. Barclay
Citizens of Fuamah District in Bong County have sharply reacted to recent media report linking the offices of Bong County Senator Jewel Taylor of making some inflammatory comments against Representative Gorpu Barclay.
It was reported that the office of Senator Taylor Thursday, September 5, 2013, alleged that Representative Barclay has failed the people of the district despite receiving over three million US-dollars from the China Union Concession company for development purposes.
According to the citizens of Fuamah District through their spokesman Richard Kollie termed the claims by the office of the Senator as false and only intended to tarnish the high earned reputation of her fellow lawmaker.
For their part, the Chairlady, Madam Cecelia Cooper and the Paramount Chief of the District, Joseph Tarteh termed the claim as untrue. They said the Representative has not received such money and that this was all intended to tarnish her name.
Madam Cooper said the district is peaceful and does not want any confusion as such claim has the propensity to bring about confusion. She said the district is pleased with the works of its Representatives.
