Death has again hit the Liberian media, this time snatching away one of its strong men, Othello T.K Yarsiah. Mr. Yassiah, a broadcast journalist, died on Sunday at the Jackson Fiah Doe Hospital in Tapita, Nimba County. He was taken at the hospital for advanced medical treatment following a protracted period of illness at his Bardnersville Area “F” residence.
Prior to his demise, he had been in the news recently sending out SOS call to the Government of Liberia, the International Community and philanthropic organizations in the country to assist him underwrite his medical bill.
In an interview on his sick bed recently, Mr. Yiassah said he was diagnosed by doctors and informed that he had developed a lever problem.
The late Yassiah worked for the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) before moving to UNIML Radio. He was later sent to Sudan for another assignment.
Upon his return, Mr. Yassiah worked briefly with an NGO in Bong County before moving to Bushrod Radio where he has been before his death.
