LTA Completes Negotiation For US$25.6m Credit Facility
In continuation of LTA Public engagement forum which is gear toward sensitizing the public about the statutory working and regulatory achievements reflecting 2010 and 2011 Annual Report, the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA), has completed negotiation of a US$25.6 million credit facility.
In a release, participants at a recent meeting held on May 26, 2013, LTA observed that in West Point represented by Commissioner Henry Benson explained some of the achievements of the LTA.
Among its achievements include, the completion of negotiation of a US$25.6million credit facility with the International Development Association of the World Bank with the aim of financing West Africa Regional Communication Infrastructure Program called WARCIP Liberia Project, which is in part financing Liberia participation in the Africa Coast to Europe cable consortium of Liberia.
The Sim Card Registration process which was imperative because of national security implication; the new national numbering plan consistent with the telecommunications recommendation and the extensive consultation with service providers in reference to the regulation of incoming international traffic through the implementation of an international Gateway Monitoring system called 1GM.
