PPAL Receives High Power Delegation

A six-man Accreditation Team from the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Regional Office (IPPFAR) in Nairobi, Kenya arrives in Liberia this week from June 1 to 8, 2013. The delegation is headed by Dr. Francois Ndayishimiye from London, Great Britain.

According to release, the accreditation process is intended for Self-Reflection, improvement and a way to enhance communication with the Government of Liberia IPPF Regional and Central Offices for better support for the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL).

The team will assess and review the work of the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia and meet with Partners to ensure International best practices, which include overseeing the monitoring of members’ adherence to constitutional programs, services and managerial membership standards among others.

The release stated, that the team overall objective is to look at the level of compliance of PPAL to the sixty five (65) Standards and Responsibilities of IPPF Membership and strengthen the capacity of Staff, Volunteer and Systems in adherence to the Standards, Programme and financial management approaches

The release points out, that the accreditation team will also examine the compliance of PPAL to each Membership Standard and substantiate the adherence with appreciate evidence or documents, identify instances of Non-compliance by PPAL, compete all forms substantiating the work of its mission and Vision.

At the International Level, each Member undergo an accreditation review every five year with a team of Regional Staff and Volunteers to assess Member Associations compliance with IPPF’S sixty five (65) standards.
