Liberty Christian Center Honors 100 Nurses

Over 100 nurses were honored by the Liberty Christian Center (LCC) in Gardnersville, adjacent National Transit Authority fence. Sunday’s honoring program is in addition to a similar honoring program for midwives by the LCC family on May 6, 2013.

Meanwhile, speaking during the honoring ceremonies through a sermon title: GOD’S AGENTS OF HELPPART II, Text: ROMAN 16:1-3, EXODUS 1:11-21.  The Seniorpastor, President and founder of Liberty Christian Center, Pastor Simeon L. Dunbar said, “according to Rom. 13:6-7 ‘honour should be given to those that deserved it’.

He asserted that people may not know the good work of nurses, but the Liberty Christian Center Church knows their importance. He also said that it is the lovingcares of nurses that have kept us alive.

He further emphasized that nurses are good counselors and good educators. Pastor Simeon Dunbar also said that there was a nurse called Phoebe in the scripture (Rom. 16:1-5) who was dedicated to her profession. He said that the nurses that were being honored are the Phoebe of today. He admonished them to keep on their good work in the Nation, as Phoebe did, because their (nurses) rewards are in Heaven.

Also officiating the program, Corpu Barclay, Representative and chairperson on the house committee on Health matter of Fauma District, Bong County, republic of Liberia, presented awards to nurses as she also did during the honoring ceremonies of the midwives on 6th May, 2013.

Speaking during the presentation Rep. Barclay said, “It is a good thing to give honor to those who deserved to be honored”.

She said, this honor is not just for those that were present, but for all nurses around the world.

Also speaking during the program, the first Vice-President of the Nurses Association of Liberia (NAL), Madam Gloria Stevens, commended the Liberty Christian Center Church for her recognition of nurses for their good works in the Nation. In her commendation, she also asked the pastor of LCC, Pst. Simeon L. Dunbar to bless the trophy that was won from a tournament organized by the Nurses Association of Liberia (NAL).

May 19, 2013, the Liberty Christian Center will be holding a Special Mother’s day program and using this medium to officially invite all Mothers, well-wisher and the general public to a special honoring and impartation service.
