The twelve- man empanelled jury at the Criminal Court C yesterday rendered a verdict of not guilty in the Journalist Darlington Pelenah’s alleged Armed Robbery case. Journalist Darlington Pelenah who has been incarcerated since July of last year for alleged armed robbery automatically became a free man as a result of the jury’s verdict of 12 against zero and announced by Judge Yusuf Kaba.
In an interview with the INQQUIRER following his release yesterday, Journalist Pelenah said he is of the view that justice is now beginning to play a blind eye for the benefit of all.
He lauded Judge Yusuf Kaba who he described as one of brilliant judicial officers in modern day Liberia for critically going into the case within a period of two weeks and subsequently bringing the case to an end.
Journalist Pelenah also thanked his friends, co-workers, relatives and well wishers who indentified with him during his period of detention.
The broadcast journalist who works with the Kings FM in Monrovia maintained that he was never involved in any armed robbery on the GSA Road or anywhere on earth but was only purported by some detractors.
Journalist Pelenah spent nine months at the Monrovia Central Prison.
