Many Want LBA League Improved…Fans Assert

Many fans of the Liberian Basketball league for 2012-2013 are calling on officials of LBA to improve the standard of the game.
According to the fans the Standard of the League and the players participating in the league matters and should be of priority.
The fans said they foresee great future in the young players taking part in the league, and if there are good plans and programs put in place, the standard everyone wishes for will be seen.
According to the Secretary General of the Liberia Basketball Federation, D. Allen Goodridge, eleven teams were registered for the first division, including nine teams from the female division, twelve second division and eight teams from the 3rd division are set to participate in this year’s tournament.
Commenting on the budget to support the games, the Liberia’s basketball Federation Secretary General said, although money plays major role in the games, but he declined to say if the Youth and Sports Ministry is the problem for the delay in the disbursement of funds and said games are played sometimes with limited budget allocations.
